I develop lesson plans that engage learners in a connected, blended, and best practices format. I create authentic learning opportunities that engage learners in relevant contexts which challenges learners to develop and use 21st century skills and literacies. I provide technology-rich learning opportunities within this framework.

 

Accomplishments

 

  • Conduct ongoing research on instructional design models to pilot and analyze effectiveness in the learning environment.

  • 5 years experience with K-12 learner assessment, curriculum development & design, and student & staff training.

​

  • Lead technology discussions on district technology team, lead professional development initiatives, and research, contact, and support communications between technology firms and district technology committee.

​

  • Host technology support/troubleshooting/implementation meetings for high school staff and students throughout the school day on an as needed basis in our 1:1 laptop program.

​

  • Ongoing professional development through attendance to major technology conferences (ITEC, Iowa 1:1, and proposed trip to ISTE 2014 in Atlanta, GA) and through my PLN on Twitter, (#1to1techat, #edtech), Google+, LinkedIn, ISTE listserv, and Facebook.

​

  • Researched, lead, and facilitated the implementation of district learning management system (LMS), Canvas, for 700 7-12 grade students for 2013-2014 school year.
